Vehicles are prone to rust when transported by sea. Seawater is very corrosive and even without direct contact with seawater, air containing seawater components can very easily lead to corrosion of ordinary carbon steel. The main cause of rust in marine equipment is electrochemical corrosion, seawater has more electrolytes, steel contains iron and carbon, which form a primary battery, iron is the negative pole, loses electrons, is oxidised, i.e. is corroded.

How does TRUCKMAN keep vehicle avoid the rust during ocean transport ? The main steps are as follows: washing the vehicle, spraying anti-rust wax and grease, covering with a tarpaulin and putting in the vessel inside.

The purpose of cleaning the vehicle is to keep the vehicle neat and tidy, so that the customer will be satisfied after receiving the vehicle; secondly, to remove impurities from the surface of the vehicle, so as to prepare for the next step of spraying anti-rust wax and grease, and to enhance the adhesion capacity of anti-rust wax and grease.

After the whole machine has dried, drive into the wax spray chamber. Wrap the entire machine cab glass, mirrors and other parts that are not sprayed. Spray the exterior parts of the body, cab and counterweights with body anti-rust wax. After the spraying of the rust-proof wax is completed, check the sprayed parts for any missing spraying, running and hanging dust, etc. The parts that are missing need to be repainted. Then apply grease again to the rust-prone parts for double protection.

Many people start loading vehicle as soon as the vehicle has been sprayed with wax, which is actually not correct. Because of the long sea transit times, high temperatures and frequent rain in tropical regions, the wax can easily evaporate. It is therefore essential that the vehicle is kept in the vessel inside, protected from sea water and humid air. If the vehicle can only be placed on the vessel deck, then it must be covered with a strong tarpaulin to protect the rust wax.
