The Douala International Airport renovation and expansion project is a key aviation infrastructure project in Cameroon, with a total investment of 95 billion CFA francs (approximately US$170 million), supported by 66 billion CFA francs in financing from the French Development Agency. The project is being implemented in two phases: the first phase, including runway extension and the construction of a new 36,000-square-meter apron, was awarded to a Chinese construction company and has a construction period of 12 months; the second phase focuses on the renovation of the existing terminal building, including the addition of 10 check-in counters and the renovation of baggage carousels. The project aims to increase the airport's annual passenger throughput from 1.5 million to 2.5 million, achieving the International Air Transport Association (IATA) "C" level standard and establishing it as a leading aviation hub in Central Africa.

Its minimum turning radius is only 3555-3575mm, allowing for agile maneuvering within the narrow spaces of old terminal renovations, avoiding collisions with existing facilities and preventing unnecessary damage. Furthermore, it can be equipped with an HB20 hydraulic breaker to handle old concrete structures, and comes standard with a 0.92m³ bucket for clearing demolition waste, achieving multiple uses.
